Student Programs

Permanent Collection
Guided discussion and workshop tours of the collection are a core service for the secondary audience. These engaging and informative tours are led by our specially trained Teacher-Lecturers in small groups of 15 or less.

These tours emphasise the experience of original works of art through an inquiry-based approach to learning, focusing on looking, interpreting and responding. Students develop skills in understanding and enjoying art, while formulating and articulating their own ideas and points of view with others in a direct engagement with different artworks. Generally a diverse range of artworks from across various collections are included.

  • Discussion & Workshop Tours
Focus on looking, interpreting and responding; Duration 60 minutes.
Extended 90 minute Discussion Tours are available for Years 11-12.
Workshop Tours are a practical extension of the Discussion Tours (duration 90 minutes).
