Signs and Symbols Investigate cultural symbolism and artistic processes as expressed through the diverse range of media in the Asian collection including stone, wood, ceramics, textiles, metalwork, scroll painting and folding screens. Teachers may select a cultural focus for Discussion Tours: China, Japan, India or Southeast Asia Artist Workshops Surrounded by the artworks in the Asian Gallery, students are tutored in traditional art by Asian artists. Spirit of the Brush Learn the techniques of brush and ink as expressed in Chinese mountain landscapes and Japanese Zen painting. Taking Tea Join a Japanese tea ceremony as a guest in the Gallery's Tea Room to experience the customs and aesthetics of art appreciation.
