The Art Gallery of New South Wales provides education programs for temporary exhibitions, for students from years K-12 and for teachers.
Programs for years K-6 include:
- Special discovery tours
- Workshops
Programs for years 7-12 include:
- Study mornings
An introduction to major temporary exhibitions. Usually take the form of a slide talk and may incorporate a video or performance component. Duration: 45-60 minutes. Maximum audience: 300 students. Recommended for large groups with limited time available.
- Study days
An intensive look at the themes and ideas of temporary exhibitions. Includes lecture, exhibition tour, workshops and, where possible, talks by artists. Audience limit: 60 students per day.
- Workshops
Programs for teachers (of all years) include:
- Teachers' Days
An intensive and inspiring day focussing on key issues and ideas. Food for thought as well as practical ideas for the classroom. Includes lectures, discussions and workshops by educators, historians, artists and critics.
- Teachers' Previews
An opportunity to learn about forthcoming exhibitions through a slide lecture or exhibition viewing.
