A fun introduction to different ways of looking at art. An ideal art adventure for students visiting the Gallery for the first time, which looks at people, places, events, objects and living things.

Backyard and Beyond
Explore the places and spaces of our country, its landscape and its people, through a selection of works in the Australian and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander collections.

Quick Draw Explore
Encounter artworks in a fresh and dynamic way through looking and drawing. Following a trail of selected works, children are encouraged to express their responses through the process of drawing.

Every Picture Tells a Story
Unravel myths, legends and stories from different cultures and times. Role-play characters and invent new stories, inspired by art works from the permanent collection.

Start with Sculpture
Discover the creative possibilities of three-dimensional art through a range of creative strategies and role-play.

The Magic of Making
Explore the creative process and unlock the mystery of how artists develop an initial idea into a finished artwork.

Information sheets including suggested pre- and post-visit activities are sent with confirmation of booking.
