Gallery's tertiary programs are designed to facilitate access to the permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, resources and specialist staff. Our aim is to provide opportunies for meaningful and relevant learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate student audiences and to promote the Gallery as a cenre of research within a wider learning community. Floortalks and lectures are available and can be tailored to specific needs on request.

Gallery Talks
Guided discussion tours of the permanent collection and some temporary exhibitions, led by specialist educators or curatorial staff, are available for small groups of 15 or less.
Duration: 60 minutes Bookings: A minimum of 2 weeks' notice is required. Free to NSW-based tertiary audiences
Specialist Lectures
Specialist lectures on the permanent collections and some temporary exhibitions are available to larger groups. Content can be tailored to specific needs on request.
Introductory lectures on the Gallery and its history, behind the scenes tours, curatorial practice, exhibition management, public programs and education are also available by request.

Self-guided Visits
For ease of access, self guided groups are encouraged to book their visit at least one day in advance. Please contact the Public Programs Booking Office with details of date, time and exhibition or collection area.
To receive the special educational group concessional rate for exhibitions:
- Book at least one day in advance.
- Bring ten or more students - admitted as one group with all students present.
- Payment must be made in one lump sum upon arrival at the exhibition ticketing desk - credit card or cash.
- The Gallery is pleased to admit the accompanying lecturer free.
Artists' and Curators' Talks
Gallery talks and lectures presented in conjunction with temporary exhibitions. Usually held on weekdays at lunchtime or early afternoon. Coming talks >

Prints and Drawings Study Room
The Study Room provides public access to the Gallery's collection of works on paper including prints, drawings photographs and watercolours.

Research Library
Monday-Friday 10am-4pm Wednesdays until 9 pm in conjunction with Art After Hours The Research Library is a non-lending library which specialises in monographs and exhibition catalogues. Established as a resource for the professional staff of the Gallery, the Library reflects the strengths of the Gallery's collection. As well as an historical emphasis on Australian and British art, extensive holdings relating to Asian art, contemporary art and photography have been acquired in recent years.
Among its holdings the Library Archive includes a major collection of primary material on Australian art and artists including the papers of Margaret Preston and Max Dupain among many.

Film at the Gallery
A regular programme of films presented in conjunction with major exhibitions. They encompass rarely screened cinema classics, important documentaries, shorts and experimental films.
