Poster for Lost Highway © 1997 October Films All rights reserved. | Special programmes curated by Fiona O’Grady, Cinema Programming Co-ordinator, Cinemedia, Melbourne.
From short experimental cinema, through documentary and feature films, these programmes echo the key themes of the exhibition: odyssey and myth, science fact and fiction, time and light. The films take the viewer on journeys through metaphoric landscapes, playing games with time and inviting explorations of various notions of space. David Lynch’s Lost Highway is at the curatorial heart. Lynch transports us through an unsettling psychological and emotional landscape with characters emerging from and disappearing into darkness and light and crossing the boundaries of time and space.
16 programmes over 8 weeks.
