As a sculptor, Alberto Giacometti was known for his nervous, elongated forms, but he began his lifelong devotion to drawing at the age of nine in his father’s studio. He produced a large quantity of drawings in his career and he considered it a vital activity which he dedicated himself to with great passion. This forum brings together artists discussing their work in relation to the discipline and special qualities of this essential artistic medium.

Speakers will include: Terence Maloon, senior curator special exhibitions, and artists Mike Parr, Elizabeth Cross, Euan Mcleod, Peter Powditch, Ken Unsworth and Nick Mourtzakis, winner of the 2006 Dobell Prize for Drawing.
