Celebrating the exhibition Margaret Preston: art and life

The Gallery celebrates the exhibition of Australia's most famous female artist Margaret Preston with concerts, films, guided tours and live music in the ArtBar during the Gallery's late night Wednesday Art After Hours.

CONCERTS 6.30pm

In this concert series, talented students and staff from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music perform a program of music inspired by the 1920s and 30s; Preston's most prolific artistic period. The concerts, performed in the majestic 19th century galleries, will range from classical to jazz from various ensembles including strings, woodwinds and percussion.

7.15pm LIVE JAZZ IN THE ARTBAR
Jazz trios from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music perform in the Gallery's ArtBar. Evening meals and wine available.

7.15pm CINEMATIC SYDNEY - PRESTON FILM PROGRAM
At a time when Australians looked to other countries for culture, Margaret Preston's work celebrated the local. This selection of feature films and documentaries is devoted to Preston's city of Sydney. Titles include:
