THE PACKING ROOM PRIZE and
ANNOUNCEMENT OF ARTISTS SHORTLISTED FOR ARCHIBALD, WYNNE & SULMAN
Wednesday 25 February 2009 at 12 noon

The names of artists selected for the Archibald, Wynne & Sulman Prizes will be announced to the media only on Wednesday 25 February at 12 noon along with the Packing Room Prize winner. The Packing Room Prize winner receives $500 cash and a $500 Myer gift card. First awarded in 1991, the Packing Room Prize is adjudicated by the Gallery's storeman, Steve Peters.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS FOR THE ARCHIBALD, WYNNE & SULMAN PRIZES
Friday 6 March 2009 at 12 noon

Australia's most extraordinary art event, the Archibald Prize was first awarded in 1921. The winners of all three prizes will be announced on Friday 6 March at 12 noon (media only). The winner of the Archibald Prize receives $50 000, the Wynne Prize for landscape painting or figure sculpture $25 000, and the Sulman Prize for subject/genre painting and/or mural work, $20 000. This is the fourth year Myer has sponsored the Archibald Prize.

THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE WINNER
Thursday 14 May 2009 at 11am

Since 1988 the public has voted for their favourite portrait in the Archibald exhibition. The winner of the People's Choice will be announced on Thursday 14 May at 11am. Both the artist and a selected voter will be presented with $2500 cash and a $1000 Myer gift card.
