Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin is one of Britain's leading contemporary artists. She has exhibited internationally throughout her career - most recently her Ten Year Retrospective at The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam - and solo exhibitions at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery, New York and The Museum of Modern Art, Oxford. In 1999 she was nominated for the Turner Prize.

Emin's work often has an air of controversy; you are as likely to find her filling up the pages of newspapers and magazines as you are gallery walls. Her work is highly personal and often touches subjects that most people would shy away from such as abortion, rape and teenage promiscuity. Emin works in a variety of media including neon, drawing, sewing, video, sculpture and installation.

This is the first time Emin has exhibited in Australia. She will present a selection of her work including large patchwork blankets, a showreel, photographs and monoprints.
